We found the castle church, and its most famous door, where Martin Luther nailed up his 95 theses which began the reformation.
He is buried inside.
Also visited the 'town' church, which was the first place the Bible was read in German, and that ordinary people were offered the full Holy Communion. Luther's house is a museum, but it is Monday, so it was closed.
Another train took us to Berlin, our first Busabout hostel, and WIFI internet.
Sunday 15 June
We mooched around in the morning, made lunch, and went back to town. We walked around the castle/museum, but didn't go in. After eating lunch in the rain, we went to Handel Haus, birthplace of Georg himself.
It has a great life history of him, with music during the English commentary, and also a huge collection of musical instruments.
Back to the hostel for tea, then a tram ride to a big garden for the 21:00 open-air final concert of the Handel Fest-Spiele, which traditionally ends with the Fireworks Suite.
We got a bit of rain, but were very lucky not to get more.

On google earth there are 'constructions' all along the river at Wittenberg. Would they be to stop the effects of flood water?
