We caught the first hop on/off bus off the rank at 10:10, and got off first at the essential stop:----
where we also saw the Reichstag (govt. house), and our first sight of the wall site.
We wandered down Kurfurstendamm, the main shopping street, and came across the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (1891), which was severely damaged in 1943, but the half-spire has been left as a memorial.
They have built a new modern church, and have a museum in the old part. They have a cross built with nails rescued from Coventry Cathedral, Eng, and have quite a bit about their relationship.
After lunch, we got back on the bus, and then spent most of the afternoon at the Jewish Museum, which followed the history of German Jews since the middle ages.
We just got the last bus back to the hostel, changed clothes, and caught a train back to the broken church, because we'd seen a notice for a free choral concert. So for 1.5hr we were most impressed by the Uppsala (Sweden) Cathedral Boys Choir (who keep their big boys too), with excellent a cappella and organ work.
