Thursday 17 July Freiburg to Stuttgart

It was raining in the morning, so we didn't bother going back to see inside the Munster which we missed last evening, but went straight to the station for another train day.

The Lonely Planet guidebook recommended a visit to the town of Siltach in the middle of the Black Forest, so we got off the train prepared to spend a couple of hours there, but the station had nowhere to leave luggage, and once we'd dragged our bags through the town we found that the tourist office was closed for lunch.
So we headed back to the station, and caught the next train to Stuttgart.

After checking in, we went back into town, and up into a tower at the station to view the city.
Then we did a bit of a walk, reading notes from the tourist pamphlet we'd picked up. 80% of the town was damaged, but there are a few very old ones left,

and we also found a gathering of 142 painted bears from UN countries.

(Dinner - pizza, salad and chips - very high class)
